About Coagh
Coagh is a small village in County Tyrone, close to Cookstown. The Tamlaght Stone is located close to Coagh. It is estimated that this Mesolithic dolmen was erected around 4500 BC. Consequently, this backs up the theory that Coagh was an ancient settlement thousands of years ago. Furthermore, the name Coagh comes from the Irish name An Cuach which means “the hollow”. In addition, in terms of geography, Coagh borders the following other townlands: Ballymoyle, Derrycrin (Conyngham), Derrycrin (Eglish), Drumconway, Lanaglug, Lower Rusky, Sessia, Tamlaght and Urbal.
